Only A Month (rewritten)

~ Forgotten Angel ~

It's been a month
since you've been gone.
It seems as if you
just left yesterday.

Sunny and bright
the day dawned,
just like any other September day.
But we know,
it was far from normal.

A month ago today
your life ended in an instant
and our world was
changed for good.

Three despairing parents lost a son,
three hurt and grieving siblings lost a brother,
four caring, loving grandparents lost a beloved grandson,
and two angelic little boys lost their favorite uncle.

Dozens lost a cousin,
some a friend,
one lovely person lost a boyfriend so true,
someone so dear,
so loved.

The one lost,
taken away in a fleeting instant
is you.
It's only been a month,
yet it feels like yesterday
that you left.
To the world, you're just another fatality,
but to us,
you're a memory that will live on forever.

It's been a while,
but the pain still hasn't faded
from our hearts.
Your memories haven't left,
because they're imprinted
in our hearts forever.

We still miss you,
still cry whenever your name is mentioned.
Every time I see your smiling face
staring back at me from a lonely piece of paper
hung on my wall in a frame
I wish you were still here.

This rips my heart to pieces, how truely and deeply I feel every word in this right now... I'm left consumed by memories and tears are simply bleeding down my face.. This touched my heart Kel, thank you for that...
