Exile in J

~ PoeticHellion ~

she stared into her coffee,
"he was so beautiful,
he was so perfect"
he snapped her perfect frame in half.
structural walls came crashing down,
her body in shambles.
and he'd never laid a finger on her.

the pain of his words,
or lack thereof,
drove her to insanity,
and she began to dissassemble herself,
right before my eyes.
"he never was too observant"

her bones laid out on the hardwood floor of the bedroom,
scattered,
like her words when she spoke of him.
"i him love he me still?"

words make no sense when you're shattered like a fucking window.
she looks so empty.
a shell of what is, was, and should be,
escaping from the mirror.

she lets out gasping breaths,
her heart doesn't beat normally.
she's not whole, not real.
not anymore.
(it takes two to tango baby)

i stared at my reflection again today.
at least I can still breathe.
