Alzheimers

~ Bluegirl ~

I hear your voice on the phone
I know you're struggling to remember
Your voice sounds distant,
Cold
With none of the warmth I'm used to
A broken record
As you stutter and stumble
Across a plane of
Unexistance
Where your meaning is Lost
In the silence of my tears
Overflow the blue
With shades of red
It feels like death to me
I can't watch you forget
I'll keep my distance
And take comfort in knowing
You won't remember

me

I've had two relatives die with Alzheimers. It truly is heartbreaking, and you articulated it perfectly.
