Before The End

~ GothicBlack ~

I bumped into god today
Walking down the street
And you know what
He was nothing like me
I was surprised to find
Him homeless on the streets
Covered in the filth of the world
And all of the sins to be
He’s just another lost soul in the sea
My eyes pass over him
Like he meant nothing to me
Avoiding the troubles of the world
I didn’t want to see
The track marks on his arm
Or the tears streaming down his face
I figured what I didn’t see
Couldn’t effect me
I didn’t realize that it was God
There on that empty street
I never bothered to notice
That all his priests
Are covered in bling bling
A mockery of faith
With money hungry minds
What does that say,
About our world and our humanity?

I think maybe in another life
Things would have been different
Faith would not be propaganda
For the government to use
But yet in the eye of the people
The devil is to blame
Through the eyes of god
Each person is at fault
For punishment shall not be named
By the world’s court
But by the word of god
And only in time
Can the daemons be driven out
But they have lingered here too long
In this time and place
Filled with so much rage and sorrow
I find its hard to breathe
Hard to see passed the evil
This world has created it’s on Armageddon
And in the heart of it all
There is a sort of stillness
Where nothing lives or dies
Like ghosts from a different plain
Angels cry their hearts out
For Gods been left behind

For I walked passed God today
A street away from
The tired, used up hookers
And I was too afraid to ask
For a simple conversation
To ashamed to ask
How the world got this way
Too terrified to admit
That we all desperately need help
That this world is in its on private hell
And I fear the end is coming near
That grace and hope has left this earth
Leaving us here without a care
Without any means to survive

I stumbled passed God today
And he was nothing like me
Laying homeless, hopeless
On the empty streets
And I was too afraid
To venture forth and give a helping hand
And that is when I knew
This is the beginning of the end

damn.. what a write.. you've got the power and soul to imagine and to give a mesage out that no one is perfect.. and you mean no body.. its only a matter of time until we end up in our own streets.. i loved the way you wrote this.. its got meaning

I agree with said comments this utilises some serious political slam here...an incredible concept I think, god as just a bum etc...wow..it was engaging and thought provoking from top to bottom...fantastic write, well done!!
