Night, Knight

~ PoeticHellion ~

You're my knight,
My knight glittering in the light.
Cold,
Black,
Desolate,
Waiting...
Night.
Shining and smiling,
And moving quickly towards me...
My knight.
Scoops me up in his...
No in your...
Arms.
Sensless preceedings
Mindless heartbeatings...
Feeling free...
Feeling need...
Loved.
Hand-over-hand,
Carve your name in a
Heart,
In a tree,
In public,
Let 'em know you got her...
No wait... me.
Let 'em see that "ain't nobody
Gonna get her."
Yeah that'll show those raging...
Scoundrals.
They'll just pretend
That they are just
As good
As you.
And you, you won't even
Be able to stop them.
Of course NOT.
Not if they get to me first.
But, we still sit here,
Hand-over-hand,
Carving our names
In a heart,
In a tree,
That same DAMN tree,
And you hope,
You Believe,
That you'll still be my knight.
"Yes," she--no I reply.
"You'll be my night."
Cold.
Black.
Desolate...
Still waiting?

I'm left in suspense.. this read both charming and somehow haunting.. not sure how you pulled that off, but you did it beautifully.
