Broken Promises

~ xX pretty vacant Xx ~

i saw you this morning.
hanging from my light fitting.
impossible?
well i saw you.

i saw your face.
empty.
blue lips and deadened stare.
those eyes that i loved so much.
dead.
staring straight through me.

and just like they told me,
needles
on the floor.

and just like they told me,
arms cut open.
staining my floor a deep shade of red.

those eyes...
just like they told me,
dead.

i saw you this morning.
arms hanging lifelessly by your sides...
grey skin stretched over your bones...
you looked even thinner than i remember you...

i wanted to check
to see if you still had my scar.
if you still had that tattoo
paul did on your shoulder
when we were drunk.

i wanted you to talk.
i wanted to ask you so much.

i wanted to know
what it was like...
those last few seconds....
what went through your head.

blue lips and deadened stare.
those eyes that i loved so much.
not blue anymore...
just grey.

those eyes....

just like they told me
i saw you hanging there.

i know now i'll see you again.
but i know it won't be okay.
i know the ending now.

i know we won't be alright...

but you promised me....
