Forgive and Regret

~ Banshee ~

I believed all your lies, untrue love takes its toll

You broke me inside, and toyed with my soul.

Incapable of love, your weapon is lust

Your beauty's a mask, underneath is disgust.

You tore me down, and took what was left

Jaded are you, for committing this theft.

I let you back in, a mistake on my part

I trusted my eyes, instead of my heart.

Short and to the point, l like the flow as well as the idea. Eyes can be decieving and l can relate to this all too well. Excellent work

This is quite finished I do believe and very well done. Sounds like somebody was a one night stand and then relegated to the dustbin of history. Been there once long ago - just remember the memories and awakenings, thanks.

I love the last two lines! Our eyes can deceive us and cause us to be blinded to the truth inside our hearts. Nicely written and a lovely read :)

The idea that "even the most beautiful of things are corrupted" really shines through in this piece. The betryal and underlining depth of pain can be sensed. Nicely done.
