I AM

~ Nefarious_Misery ~

I am the sore in your mouth you just can’t stop tonguing

I am the tears you can’t keep from coming

Every lustful thought

Every pain you brought

I am the rage that resides deep inside you

I am the jealousy that tears those that bind you

I am the lust that every day blinds you

I am the greed that every man climbs to

Every hurtful word

Every curse that's heard

I am the darkness, the evil, the night

I am the very thing that gives you all fright

I am what makes your hairs stand on end

I am betrayal between the closest of friends

Every man that kills

Every sinful thrill

I am the blemish on ripening fruit

I am the stain on a brand new white suit

I am the strong who prey on the weak

I am the madness infecting the meek

Like a thousand moths caught in a lampshade

Fighting for space in death’s sweet serenade

Churning and burning and fighting for life

Praying that someone would just turn out the light

I am the omega, the end to your days

Veiled in plain sight just beyond a light haze

You know very well who and what I am

I am sin.

I’m the sinner.

I’m the devil.

I am man.

Very much enjoyed. And a new favorite. Nice work. I love the last line and how simple it gets and knocks you down the ladder. Perspective = Blown.
