The Mind's Haunting

~ rosemaiden ~

Light behind my lid flickers
I open my eyes and wake up in a forest
Memories lost of times past
I'm on a quest to find the path
That whoever finds, from pain they are released
So many have tried and many have ceased
I go on further as the shadows creep
I hear sounds of creatures beneath
Scared and tired I run to escape
The heart in my chest begins to quake
For upon my sprint I came across a clearing
A village it had seemed was celebrating
There was a man standing tall
Dark hair long, no ugliness at all
Very alluring to all young girls
But none seemed worthy in his eyes
I stumbled upon some leaves but no one heard
Then I saw his eyes search
I crept back and ran
I didn't stop, I had to escape this land
Though a void filled me when I left his presence
Something familiar about his appearance
Suddenly falling, swirling, unending
Into another place I had fallen
Him! standing in front of me
"I finally found you" he whispered quietly
You were taken once but never again
Your disappearance will be avenged
Darkness starts to fall as I slip away
I hear him yelling that I stay
But something pulled me that I couldn't stop
I jolted upward and had woken up

Was I taken? Why this void?
Find me.......
