Uncontrollable
BY: EDWIN DOLINGER
I have an urge to kill,
I have since I was a boy.
I need to watch as blood spills,
And life itself slips slowly away.
Once upon a time my urge was satisfied,
By killing stray cats and dogs in the neighborhood
And even though animal cruelty is unsavory,
It is a far cry from murdering a human being,
But now my urge grows stronger inside,
Like a rash I dare not itch,
But this rash will not disappear,
It will grow until I dig into it.
I must scratch this killing itch,
Until I break the skin and bleed,
If I don’t I lose control,
And kill the ones I love…
