Past

~ ShadesOfGrey ~

Cursed by desolation's sting

Broken by what devils sing

Slithering, writhing underneath

Trapped in death's relentless teeth

Wrapped in my familiar vice

My heart is cold and hard like ice

A frozen stronghold guarded well

Content to dine in heartbreak's cell

I reach inside in hope to find

The part of me assumed affined

With pain brought forth from recollection

But all I find is disconnection
