Karen Likes 3: A.M. ['07]

~ chrome arctic ~

Thinly painted, cloudy eyed set of skin frames
Suitable or revenue
Wooden doors that don’t close properly
They’ve been worn past their edge
Paranoia keeps you safe and on guard,
But not for these weapons - grade urges
A sly spoken ‘mechanic’
Who says, “I can repair any ache that you feel”.

“Don’t you want to not be safe from yourself”?
“Don’t you want to know what you’re capable of”?

Personalities in stages, small windows of chance,
To reinvent anyone
We took our turns playing clean victims
"Stay down here curious eyes"
Embedded zipper marks across your arms
Sore concrete impressions,
That varied in depth and texture across my chest

Karen likes sex with slits on her back
Karen likes the metal chemicals that fog her
Karen likes the pretty glare of neon across windows
Karen likes to pretend to be the targets’ aggressor
But Karen really isn’t playing at all

“I hope tomorrow is thick, cloudy skies, a touch below freezing”.
“It’s nice to relate to something even if it is only the weather”.

“Don’t you want to turn everything on”?
“Don’t you want to give into what will cancer your soul”?

Indeed, this was curiously worded, and much enjoyed, but I think I missed the point. Never the less, if it works for you, then that is all that matters. ~b
