Chainsaw Satori

~ Scarecrow Jack ~

Threw my funeral
Today
Saxophone laugh ringing
Long black car blues
Gather ‘round now
Brothers and Sisters
Daddy gone tell a tale
Hit and pass
Hit again

Holy voodoo
Saint rust coffee can
Filled livewire worms
Writhe on illogic hooks
Anticipation
Is dying
in
slow
motion

Ghost face heroes
Lay tranquil
Silver screen coffins
Pretty in a row
Monochrome crucifixion
Tap the boxes shut
one
by
one

Expect only expectation
Fragile
Breaking under hammer
Fall wishing stars
I know the rhythm
Can’t keep
Time
Just enough left
To your health

Never good enough
Words
Shaping dreams around
Shabby tenement cold
Water rooms peeling
Brocade paper walls
Our bare bulb burning
Yearning tick, he says
And tock
