The Fine Art of Unacceptance

~ Bluegirl ~

Head down, it's me again
Cringe and look away
If I ~SQUEEZE~ my eyes tight enough
Maybe it didn't happen

"Excuse me," from the table
Stare into the bathroom mirror
If I ~SHOCK~ myself with cold water
Maybe it didn't happen

Bear held tight in arms
A tear slides down my eyes
If I go to sleep and pretend again
Maybe it didn't happen
