The sun was high in a cloudless sky
But you eclipsed its light

I stood under showers
Of dead leaf confetti
Watching my heart
Bleed
Sorrow
For you
As you turned and left

No screaming
No crying
No begging
Would bring you back

You cut us in two
With a poisoned blade
Cut a wound that won't heal

And I'm so cold
Craving your warmth
Sometimes
I reach my hand into the flame
Just to feel
Something

But it's not you
It's not enough

Because
When I cry myself out
I still don't know why

Why you cut off my wings
