peek-a-boo savior
'seek and ye shall find'
name of the game

consider yourself found.

i am in the audience?
no, baby, the body
the body is the thing
and the heart's where you're at
if you've got in your heart

shakespeare forewarned me
the ravaging possession
of "the beast with two backs"

i need to write,
leave him a memo:

i have been in the belly
of the beast with a thousand

a nameless faceless decimation
where i was stripped down bare to my sweat and my bones
and the open flesh of self-consumption:
the creature that feeds upon its own organs,
sucking down the bile and salt with masochistic fervor

i have thrown myself into anonymous hands and bodies
which sought to crush the air from my lungs
for no other reason than i was breathing alongside them
and to belong to the same beastial writhing mass
meant to be offered as a sacrifice to the self

body slick with what was not mine
and the bitter of strangers in my mouth
burning in heat of factioned veins all exploding
we fought to stay alive to keep destroying each other
as the innominate thousand became most intimate lovers

turning in within upon against and churning
claiming taste and laying waste to exposed anythings
while making delicate mutilation of willing appendages
ceasing to recognize acknowledge outside existance
frenzied and feverish mantic ravenous implosion

all driven by the heart
clawing through the muscle
and the skin and bone
teeth and knuckles bared
ready to bring blood to the surface
just to expose the pulse

gone were the concepts confined by names
or nouns or nomenclature
for the body needs no vocabulary
to identify its entrails
and the beast needs no words
to howl and rage against itself

above all was the heart and the blood
torturebound in steel strings and fingertips
and malicious destructive intent of the finest degree
gifted and graced a whip's tonguing on the back of the beast
the sort of sanctity that to walk away living from
is blessing enough to fall upon knees and weep for

i am a glad sacrifice
with a thousand lovers
in the belly of the beast
with a thousand backs

Awesome, well put. I really like the repetition with the beast and the thousand. Images are lovely, and feel like they belong, its a nasty dirty place. ;) coolio.

This is excellently written. Your words took me to that place and made me feel what you were feeling. Althought, these days I try to avoid the pit at all costs. :)

Crowd surfing and shit. They mostly just stand around and bob their heads* But this was sweet. I love going to gigs. Music is always so much better live. That's when you get the full experience.

I guess this poem holds sentimental value to me because I'm such a concert rat. I really did enjoy this one. Write on.

this poem is a failure from the start. a [poor] dedication to the experience on february second: children of bodom in concert.

Failure?! This took me there; among the best descriptions of 'being there' that I've read. It's fantastic, and evoked everything of the beastbelly metalcrowds I've been in too. I loved it. So there. I give it a A+. >:D
