i stuck a finger
down my throat,
dollar-store manicure and all



vomited up
the parts of you
that hadn't quite digested




it wasn't pretty.




now i keep them
on a shelf

out of sight
out of mind







where i won't be tempted
to swallow them again
despite my hunger.
