Breathing to the steady beat of your heart
I find my grounds and see myself
Glimpsing into a pool of reality,
'Don't do it.'
My lungs tighten upon your chest
Sending cold chills down my spine.
My eyes glance into yours
And instantly I'm mesmorized by you.
Your force is pulling me in like a tide;
My pants clinging to my legs
From the protruding waters.
Another step forward and I'll surely drown.
Memories fade into pure darkness;
Water glistening from the moon
And ripples from your blood form.
I've taken another step
Into the freezing lake
Sending shivers down my back.
At least it will be over;
I'm making sure that
I don't come back.
'Don't do it.'
I've sunk under and can't breathe.
Water like ice;
A thousand knifes stabbing your chest
As my body is swallowed whole.
Somehow your hand found mine;
You gave me a new life.
The water turns back to calm
And I breathe again to your heartbeat.
Sweat dripping off my brow,
I lie in bed next to you,
Dreaming of your gentle touch.
