AngelicDemonMelisandre's picture So let me get this straight my membership is decided on what I write here? Gee thanks for not adding any pressure, sorry just kidding. Okay, about me. I've written poetry as long as I can remember, granted it has not always been that good, but still I was writing it. That should count for something. I might not always write dark poetry, what is dark poetry exactly? What I might consider "dark" someone else might consider normal, everyday occurences then again someone may consider something dark that I only consider in the gray area.
The "gray area" as I call it is where some poems, stories, etc. get placed when someone can not distinctly determine how "dark" something is. Maybe I'm the only one who does this, but their are poems, stories, and movies out there that some people consider scary that I don't. So one day I got so bored/fed up with everything that I started picking things that were "white" being all things of the good, "Gray" things that could go either way depending on someone's interpretation, and "Dark" things that no matter what anybody does it can never be consider anything else.
I got off topic somewhat, started to try to justify what I consider "gray" when I honestly didn't have to. Back to poetry, it's in my blood. Yeah I know, many people have probably said that at one time or another but it honestly is for me, throughout my day I can't help but vent my feelings through any type of writing whether it be poetry or short stories. I could sit here all night and tell you about how well I think I write, or what type or writing style I have, but I think I'll save us all time and show it here. Here is one of my poems, I don't think it's my best work and I also don't think it's that dark. But here it is...
"Blood Streaks"
You hold me in your ghostly pale, shaking hands
Trying to remain undetected you slowly reach for the handle
The door betrays your presence by loudly creaking
All the people sitting in the pues turn at the erie sound.

They stare accusingly at you, your grip on me tightens
My tiny green thorns are almost piercing your porcelin skin
You only falter for a second, before you decide to continue
Strength renewed somewhere deep inside, you start to walk.
