broke
broken-heart strung-stung by that arrow
no.one ever mentioned cupid having stripes. and his bow
is a dagger. dragging emotional baggage
sagging eyes and heart strings plucked for the music of our lives
striving to thrive. diving head-first into this. emotional bliss
she never had a chance to see
the sea of love- turn into a blindsiding fist
[black eyed regret] dreading another grind. another heart dismissed
a kiss set in stone
leaves another chest caved in. and tears falling alone
a.lone
a.lonelyness she feels. spills her blood into her bowl
stolen time. left to the wolves of her sullen- war.torn mind
behind the door. the curtains fall- just try not to trip, get off the stage
exit left. pull the wool over your eyes. rip
out your heart- it still beats the rythm of soul
sip.ing the bitter taste of hatred forming in the bottomless pit
the hole. drilled into the core of an angel with wings of fire
higher than the boring smalltalk. scream your desire.
on a street of broke dreams. seems like a midnight dance. transfixed
on yesterday- it's the way that the scars mend.
and at the end of this darkened tunnel. there's a meadow where orchids blend
bend in the wind. whispering this descent
it's never over.
because you'll always have me as a friend.
