I am nothing like you'd want me to be.

a plastic landscape of wants.-'what if's and overindulged emotion
perfection on paper/ and a smile of knowing
a simplistic.sentient puppet. on a grand stage of metaphor
an entity of illusion-a being of tranquility
that you'd die to be.

yet I am nothing like you'd wish me to be-
nor do I wish to be what you are

livid- eyes that once burned with passion- blaze with envy
I could drink from the stars and still wave goodbye to the night
with an empty halo above my head- and you'd hate it
the night to my own day. I drape myself in a curtain of superiority
for my confidence is justified

I am nothing that you'd wish me to be-
yet I am everything that you could ever hope to achieve

an object of unabashed-malevolence. green to the touch/ are you
steaming pools of malice. and the unattainable
a vortex of _high and mighty_ open to debate- unable to change
just an open book in a cryptic language
no eyes are worthy to read

and I am everything that you wish you could be
yet you are nothing in my eyes

a wayward glance at what can be tossed aside so easily
a waste bucket. filled to the brim- of you
and you- looking down on me. only to see my feet
for my head is too far above you
you are nothing

and I am what you'd die to be

I am what you can never be
