take your over-estimated lives and drive the nail home/ into my skull
hit me. as I beg for your touch.._[fuck] the pain-
and d.rag your fingers across my eyes. blind me in your malevolence

superficticious in a world of lies- an 'S' on the chest of humanity as we watch it die
cry to me in a fit of rage. your stage is burning- and now you're the star
and in my world of plastic and gold /I wonder sometimes, you know.
as we all do, and the time flies by as I crush it between my fingers
and drop it into the sand. another grain in my glass
and we can laugh as we watch the world fall apart. another pirouette
while your shadows cast glances towards the sky
and we all believe we can fly::

fly to another plane of existence- ourselves left behind on this hallow ground
as I drown myself in another bottle. capped out and tapped on
we are what we used to be, and what we used to be died at one point or another
now kiss the bullet- it's been waiting for a love.

-tread on. trade in your overused life. overdue strife and hand yourself a knife to take a stab
drag it down your forearm. taste what little emotion you have left and lie to yourself
as we can count on your fingers- the mistakes you've yet to make

we may have not seen much, but we know we've seen far to much- another star just died
and a tear just slipped from your eye. sigh to the wind- from far above we can try
try again- another game of toss-the-blame/ and we're back at square one.
hundred and two. to the end of a new line of an end, and back at the beginning again
we try to drag down the sky with bullets- kissed by god

the blood pours down like rain. and we can dance with little regard
for once- isn't life just grand?

and this life is over-rated-over-stated. and overplayed. we drink to broken moonlight glances
shattered stances of silken suede. dried and tied this night drags on too long
as we all search through barren fields, we just need that one place.
a certain cabinet, where we belong.

slit my wrists with /nothing less than this. stake your claim. my vein awaits- as you call
down the hall of yesterday. make me feel whole again.
because I just don't belong. no.

and this place.isn't - [me]

maybe I'm better off blind

an astonishingly powerful piece, with so many excellent phrases and evocations that i'm hard-pressed to quote a favourite line...perhaps "superficticious in a world of lies"... Awesome work.

"and this place.isn’t - [me" - this line is murderous. Amazingly written with such exquisite imagery, unblemishing to the eye; the dragging of the sky with bullets . . shadows casting glances . . fingers dragging across eyes. Astounding, Jon. ~ Rose
