You are a vision
the only ray of light that penetrates
my darkened sight
A stark contrast to my dreams of late
the obsidian thoughts that plague me
both sleeping and awake,

and i wish that i could
shut off my endless night,
for it is blinding as it pours
from my open eyes,
crying out to the moonlight in your eyes
to dance to me through my darkness
and purge the abyss behind my own.

But pay me no attention,
listen not to my pleas,
for i will prey upon your compassion.

I am just a dreamer,
a theiving little schemer
who will steal your starlit illusions,
to replace my own miserable delusions
of an unattainable reality

I am only telling you this
because i wish to save you
from that fall that is inevitable
when people try to gaze into my depths,
trying to unveil the mystery
behind my every wretched breath.

Perhaps this warning is only encouraging you
to try and save my soul.
Don't be fooled into seeing
some piece of humanity in me,
my soul has already been lost.

Don't waste your time,
you won't find anything in me worth saving
just reasons to extinguish my dark flame.

~So run away before it is too late~

Don't try to save me,
you will only lose yourself
the abyss inside me is only angered by the scent
of your innocence
an unbearable slap in the face
that reminds it of what it has not,
it will slowly drain the light out of you
and make you just like me.

And then your death will be in vain
my poisoned heart will never change;
so listen and don't let yourself be trapped by me
and maybe then i will find proof
of my seemingly nonexistant humanity
