We can never go back.
You’ll always know. (Though never believe)
A strike before the flash
This town has lost its color. (Your eyes have lost their color)

Waves crash down
Sail towards the sun (Far away from here)
Beware the end
The fall’s too far (What do I believe?)

Walk on water
Just to find (I knew I had to know)
It was never true
They never told the truth (It will set you free)

Memories fade away
What reasons had they to stay (What reasons have you stay?)
Out on the edge of the world
Smile for our bleeding sun (I’ll remember this forever)

Turn to face me (My last request of you)
Gems reflect brilliance
I could stare all day (If only I could see)
A lovely view just before

Reach out and touch
But slipping through (You’re always slipping through)
Nothing will stop the burn
This world has failed you (It failed me too)

Close and fade away
Drift, exist no more (Together, always together)
If only we could stay
I always told you. (Good bye, love)

This is definitely not typical. It does have the feel of waves, of have and have not...within a melancholy that would fit in a black and white film, of beatiful beaches awash in circumstance.
