There’s never been a blanker slate staring at me
No words will ever comprehend this immense loss
No poetry can ever capture the fracture of this circle
I watched the big dipper tip and rotate counterclockwise
While we tried to talk about every other thing than you
Because they hadn’t pulled you out of the lake just yet
I thought I’d use it to scoop you out and make you aliver
Or we could just meet you at the Angelic one more timer
The shock is unreal, so heavy and thickly and impenetrable
Might as well jot this down while the tears stay held back
Cheers to you, my friend, not the drink that turned you into
A fan of buffoonery and somewhat likewise self-destruction
Though it was all worth it in spades and now you’ve set forth
That nothing is poignant now and nothing profound can ever be
Written to explain this unexplainable event and how it makes too
Much sense to throw away and walk away from, to storm out and
Suffer it and marvel at how numb I am right now that even pictures
Cannot make me cry, or the last memory I have of you alive and real
When the game ended and everyone left, with my final image of you
Watching us leave and I swear I saw pain in your normally stoic face
As if you were alone and scared, and no one threw a line out for you
If I’m wrong I’ll truly never know, but we never could have seen this
On the horizon, and you didn’t get any second third chances like some
An unofficial goodbye is in order now, for our circle is truly broken &
Unmendable, but all we can do is join hands and recircle and trudge on
With you in our hearts and minds, always in our most cherished thoughts
Running out of time now to ward off the cometcrash and devastation that
Comes with the next day’s awakening, so let me end with an empty pledge
If you'd cried for help we'd have stormed walls of flames to save you

This is an immensely powerful write. that last line is absolutely gutwrenching. Marvellous, heartfelt and brutally emotive; this screams. Excellently done.
