I’m curling back into myself
Detaching bit by bit
But knowing this is not enough
So sadness slips in spite of it

It’s almost like I’m on TV
Sit back and watch the show
She’s up now down – another round -
Let’s see how low she’ll go

So merry rhymes and words come out
While water-falls and fears yet doubt
She doesn’t know what she’s about
It always comes to this
She doesn’t know why anger starts
While tear-ing rips out both their hearts
So sorry words play rhyming’s parts
And then it’s Him I miss

It’s almost like a melody
An empty song she sings
She’s testing voice and making choice
Knowing how the end begins

I’m wilting back - I always do -
And hiding bit by bit
But knowing is just not enough
My paradigm’s too good a fit
