Should I fall or should I break
What dilemma's here at stake
Do I lash a silent tongue
Or do I bear a song unsung?

'Twas joy and rage that met me there
Caught beaten, sore, and unaware
A document - no, nothing more
But Fate had moved to make her score

By order of the president
Your life, your limb are to be spent
You're bought and owned by DOD
It's your turn - you'll keep us free

They'd forced me to forget that way
The ARMY wouldn't let me stay
You're overseas and cannot drill
We will not keep you, that's our will

So cast adrift, I found my path
Contracting during the aftermath
On foreign land, all thru the war
With fear of what was yet in store

I knew they'd come to pull me back
I knew it, but now I can't react
Honor fights necessity
Change is wanted desperately

Half-heartedly I seek ways out
Half-hoping is half full of doubt
My case seems weak, with whines and sighs
Exhaustion gives me pseudo-lies

Shall I fall or will I break
Will they let me keep this stake
What choices now are forced to make
Or will they, too, my freedom take?
