Nothing unusual, but something's there
Was there more beneath her stare?
This sudden void now fills some space
Hidden beneath that familiar face
(A secret that she didn't know)
((A detail that had been in tow))
Something great has just begun
His heart lays with another one
This peace has made his world like new
While joyously they're one from two
(A tie she didn't see would break)
((A solitude that time will make))
This story's started, yet undone
There's times ahead for light and fun
But while he goes to his loved one
Hidden tears fall with the midnight sun
(A keystroke, a rhythm familiar and true)
((A poem at last, after so long with so few))
(((Words to release and rebirth her anew)))
((They're always what's left: after one, then two))
