In solitude I walk once more
Another dream had teased me so
But like all dreams fade with the night
So fled this love where I cannot go

Perhaps my joy bursts forth too soon?
Or is it that I ask too much?
Completeness, Love, Commitment true -
Am I forbidden to seek out such?

Perhaps my eyes lack sight? Or no?
Life does not evolve from looking in
Mayhap I should glance about -
Take the gold and leave the tin?

Ay, but that is not for me
Gold is soft, yet costly stuff
Soon, when enough tin shreds
Perhaps, by then, I'll have enough.
