Take me away
From this life so ill lived
From the stench of defeat
From the weakness within
Take me back home
To the place that I know
To the scent of familiar
To the sleeping zone

Mentality falters
Words crash into thoughts
Two victims of fate
Destroyed on impact

Taking me far
From the present hot sands
From the stagnant unchanged
From the failures I know
Take me back then
To the world where I fly
To the bliss of my freedom
To the dream I've lived

Stability teeters
Fears pour onto faith
Two aspects of life
Coalesced into one

Torn, segregated
Split, unrelated
Apart and divided
Made to choose which to side with.
