Lashing, straining, scarring
This pain
Torn once again from family
From home
Brought back to desert sands
That rain
By need forced to dwell and work,
To roam

Bitterness burns me for the need to
Be here
Rage will consume me, imprisoned
So long
Futile seems struggling against fate
So sere
An emptiness grows within
This heart

Lose hope, lose faith, lose sight
Of I
But a pawn in a bigger plan you
Can't see
Withdraw, remove, released here
To sigh
Suspecting that Powers lead me here
To die

I am but me
I am nothing more
How can I be strong when
My weakness I abhor?
