Its been months since you've been in my arms
and years since I cared.
I see you on the street
and walk on by.
"our" song is on the radio
I just crank it up.
I've had detestable sex
and I still don't long for yours.
Its all falling down around me
Im holding myself up.
You cry out in angst wishing I was right there with you...
You take me by the hand and ask:
"Was it ever real to you, was I nothing simply because I didn't want to be your everything?"
You hate me.
I can see it in your eyes.
Hear it in your voice.
Your trembling hands colide with the wall,
Rage releases its grasp upon you.
The words fall heavy into my empty soul.
There is no apathy for you.
No feeling rises from my deepths...
I search my thoughts waiting for a sign
A sign Im still human...
A sign Im still present within this moment.
I tell you
"The opposite of love isn't hate... its indifference."
