After all these years
I cannot believe it
someone in a dark past
from a community that for the most part never noticed
never appreciated me for who I am
and then you resurfaced

I feel bad for not remembering as much as you
but because of the events that happened to me
for the most part I blocked them all out
along with the people I knew
because the majority did not like me
through time I briefly started to remember
and then I had the pleasure of talking to you

Hearing a voice I once knew much younger
you call me and I become emotional
contact from my homeplace is quite rare
not even my closest friends from there contact me anymore
and you reached out to me
really, you did
after all these years...

Feeling sorry for not completely being there
and I forgive you before even hearing the whole story
because back in the day
we were all just kids
we did not know much
and the ones who messed with me
obviously had nothing better to do
or were insecure somehow of themselves
so what if they made me the outcast?
I've dealt for years and I really do appreciate the honest and support

Forget the past and lets start anew
you have already touched my heart with the concern you have
for in a sense not even knowing my present self
but you remember me at a point where I cannot even remember much myself
and that to me is amazing
I feel as if I am in debt to you somehow for this
you are nearby for sometime
and I want to be your friend
I want to be there for you
and before you resume schooling again
I want to see you...

To me this would be both a pleasure and an honor
your call to me was like a gift
and I know you feel similar
or perhaps even the same
let us sit one day
and chat up a storm
I look forward to our reunion
because an interesting one it shall be
