a gentle hiss is heard as the first step is taken
the cold, damp grass from last nights rain
turning a deeper shade of green from the heat
turning onto it's self in an attempt to hide

the second step, same gentle hiss just louder
a more steady step this time is taken
it's growing more used of this place
growning more confident about it's purpose

it's difficult to see through the steam
but the bare feet of this creature
seem to almost glid just above the surface
always there, always felt, never proven

the third step, and the forth, in perfect timing
perfect balance, this.. thing is now adapted
this raw being is now here in full
a small twitch reaches it's lips

almost a smile, although not born from happiness
but from something more akin to malous
something far darker then to grace the flesh of man
some emotion not fealt in mortal hearts

the beast strides foward, a new rush of confidence within
an new power reached, the mere presence of such a force
causes my skin to tingle like being touched by a fine mist
causes my heart to beat just that little bit faster

it stands before me, standing a head higher
the shoulders of this monstrosity, twice as wide as me
the muscles on this fiend, have the apperance
of being carved from the very bedrock of the earth

it's gaze finds my eyes, i cannot look away
it grabs my throat and with apparent lack of effort
raises my toes well clear of the ground
pulling me closer, it's breath searing the skin on my face

it speaks, a sound remanisent of glass being forced over gravel
it makes my heart stop with it's words so cold
it speaks calm and controlled, but with the air of raw hatred
"LET ME OUT"

awakened from my sleep i sit foward in a rush, barely breathing
my heart is pounding within my chest, sweat dripping from all of me
skin tingling from the sudden chill in the air
i get up to get a drink but i'm frozen before the mirror

i can't turn my eyes from the bruising on my neck

Not sure why this hasn't had more comments. It tells a story, a tale of romantic tragic tenderness. I love it. Well done.

i fail to see the romance but thankyou

It is in the way you write, the twist of your words, which make a dark romance such as; "a gentle hiss is heard as the first step is taken the cold, damp grass from last nights rain turning a deeper shade of green from the heat turning onto it's self in an attempt to hide"
