forgotten vows
embossed in blood
the scent of greed
the coming flood
no careless act
no selfless deed
the man reacts
withdraws
yet leads
behind the lies
this man
well kept
forgets his life
his heart
inlet
his dying eyes
lost hate
far gone,
to realize life
in self
was all
