Why do I do this to myself
find solace in substances

destroying my brain
numbing the pain

I have become hollow it seems
and the only things that are filling me
are killing me

I never wanted to be here again
trapped in an addiction
choosing to slowly kill myself

and the burn that comes
after I take that shot
reminds me

I’m fading [out]

and I think I’m okay with that.

This isn't one of those days I can relate this but I'm sure the next one won't be far off, I'll be back to read it again then. Nice job on this one, *favorites*

I know that place. I keep wishing it's an in-between place but I'm still trying to find the other side and I'm starting to wonder if it's even there. One day at a time. An old cliche' but it's all they say. Great piece. Thanks for sharing.

No. That's bad. You're not. No one is. Addictions are all in the mind, though they CAN be rooted deep down in there. Take it from me. Right now, you are your own worst enemy. Nice work, in laying it out there.
