I want to be a flower
From dawn to dusk to dawn.
Complete with imperfections,
To sit upon the lawn
Of life with joy, the happiness,
The strife, and even pain.
Trampled, admired, stopped and seen,
Crushed only to grow again.
I want to be seen as an item,
An extra on the path of the day,
To flow with the wind, to shine in the sun,
A mere stop along the way.
Effortless beauty, unknowing existence;
All a part of the power;
To charm those passing, secure in my place;
The strength to be a flower.
