Asked why she drives me manic:
been bitten by your savage teeth of criticism
- too many times - I walked
into brick walls of your "lessons"
frustrated failure, flat tyre
and you're missing it, how I've grown up, yet
you're still flaying me
with all your childish antics.

"Into brick walls of your lessons" loved that line... sometimes it seems other's point of views and how stubborn they are about them, will stop you dead in your tracks... just when you thought you had it right...

i respect your experience with your mother as it was and this is a heartfelt piece... still... it is my commitment and stand that we all find a way to powerfully love our mothers... no matter how little they had to give us...

I agree with Chef, below, this does turn around the relationship and somehow reveals it in an even deep light, as if there is no separation btwn them... the roles deconstruct?

It's interesting how the "once child" calls the mother "childish" it's true though, some parents just never grow up, even if they have kids.

heh...brings back sterotypical memories. How a mother pushes a daughter to fulfill a legacy in which they could not...or never had a chance to.
