they love you
and they break your heart.

months later
they get back in touch
for various reasons-
sex
the girl they left you for
has left them
you have their stuff
or
they actually miss you

you hang out
a little more
than may be necessary
to resolve
the past

maybe you snuggle
a bit more
get a little
too comfortable
kiss
a little
too long

you find yourself
happy
when with them

you forget
for a moment
why you ever
broke up
in the first place

then
they have the decency
to remind you.
