there is a time of night

a secret
and dreadful
time of night

when even vampires
hide
within the shadows
werewolves
huddle close
to their pack
and demons
flee
to the light of hell's flames

Cerebus
dares not
bare his fangs
but whimpers
and seeks out the hand of Hades

Kali shivers
and wraps around her
a cloak
of men's skin

even Satan
cannot bear it
and turns
away

only i remain
beyond reason
beyond fear

the mad
have nothing
to be afraid of

ours
is a world
of darkness
only found
within the screams
and void
of the mind

ours
is a world
of evil beyond measure
and tears
beyond counting
terror you cannot escape
for it hides
in the labyrinth
of your nightmares

there is a time of night
when insanity
becomes
reality

and even death
longs
for the reassurance
in a comforting hand

do not seek
sanctuary

there is
no
mercy
here
