Rain is falling upon the rooftop
The sound melancholy,
so out of place

The bonsais in their little pots
Thirst, so heavily
For a rain they have never known

She takes pity,
To lavish water upon their dusty leaves
Watching the soil darken,
Smelling the wet earth

A similar smell fills the air
But it is not present within air conditioned halls
How can the skies pour down outside
Even while we thirst inside?
