I am as delicate as the glass swan you dropped on the dance floor last night

That you didn’t hear shatter over the beat of music or roar of pulsing blood in your ears

And glass pieces are left on the floor to lodge themselves in the tired feet of the dancers

But everyone is numb to the pain till the morning

When the tears come around

… and I’m left trying to pick up these bloody pieces

Lets see how many hearts were lost on the dance floor,
How many tears were spilled, to mix with spiked punch
… and yet you still manage to salvage the night

In flaming caresses I’ve lost you

I’ve lost me to you’re touch

And joke turns to lust

And we’re dancing too fast for me to hold this show together

Honey, I’m sorry for leaving you-

Somewhere in the night there was a wild call,
A heartbreak
But in this one night we all joined in chorus
Yet the sharing of pain did not numb it, at all

The way you move is sickening

Yet you draw us like moths to the flame

And when we come out burnt and wingless

You know it’s us you tamed

probably the best thing I've seen you write...it pulls together like a perfect moment with the trimmings and the force of being human...loved it....brilliant!!

"I've lost me to you're touch"...the last 4 lines captured me. this is gorgeous. i've lost my heart on the dancefloor many times. it's too easy to get caught up in someone else's footsteps.
