First there was pure darknes
like the gap of the heartless

Then came a blinding light
all that could break the night

and there the fight began
and humanity spilled far like wind-swept sand

Time since then slips slowly by
with all those people begging to fly
but only fight they shall
and in the night they howl
   crying for the light
drawing deeper on their inner night

and why is it so hard to smile
our lives are fit togethere like tile...
   paved in place
      upturned face
   stepped on again and again
trying so hard to hold up the world with a pen...

human faults will not disappear
our world is a single sphere
spinning out of control
and sooner or longer time will takes its toll...

you have to wonder if at some point in time, past or future, it was/will be better. Sometimes I feel like we're still in the dark ages. Basically living in cubes stacked on top and along side each other.

I liked several things you stated. the fly/fight stanza, human faults not dissappearing thus keeping us basically running in place, but I especially like the "trying so hard to hold up the world with a pen" all so true

The last two stanzas were my favorite, "stepped on again and again trying so hard to hold up the world with a pen..." --Breathaking line. Wonderful write.
