Circling,
I won't turn away.
"Just a little longer,"
I assure myself.
You know better...
Soon, you'll realize
I was here all along.

Darling, why?
Why won't you be like the one in my dream?
Was he more dependent than I?
What's taking so long?
The questions go unanswered.

They cannot,
They must not find me here.
They mustn't thrust me into the light.
I'm much too sensitive where I am.
Lure me out with your secrets.
It's too soon...
Why do I need this?
Just a cheap substitution,
Something that's not coming back,
Something everyone knows.

I'll bet she's laughing now.
Try and listen.
Grinning at what they already knew.
But I was told it was something to be celebrated!
Why must we exist like this?
The only black and white
Is mixed to gray.
