The first time I looked into her eyes
I saw the Virgin Mary screaming
"Dance is deeper than sex"
and I gave up on religion
teaching me something I didn't already know
so I lent her my hips to grind against
and my hair to tangle her rings in
while she used her mouth to rip our perfumed bonds
and I crumbled
I wanted you when you looked at me
like an experiment gone ugly
and feared our logic
lime for your alcohol
blue for my profit
You trickled fairy tales from lies
(I hated realism until I met you)
and I leaned my head against our four-foot Berlin Wall
not high enough to place my palm on your knee
