I stand in front of a big door
Not knowing what life has in store
I fear opening it and finding what’s inside
Before I do so, slowly do I confide

And find a common ground to speak
With those poor, wretched and weak
With an empty shallow existence do I call
To ensure that all my inner strength will not fall

And with heavy heart and heavy hands I start
The doorknob turns and this world do I depart
For what I search I simply cannot ask
So I embark on my great important task

But soon I realise that it cannot be seen
The fabled field where all is good and green
And so with sorrow on my face cold and pale
I still search for my own holy grail.

I do love the introspection I have seen in a few of your poems thus far.I would only say.Sometimes I think the structured rhyme takes away from what I thinkshould just float...If that makes any sense. Silver~

the last stanza elicits strong and varied emotions... the rhyme scheme you chose made some of the lines clumsy..
