The butt of a cigarette burns one too many times
into the reclusive interior of this bitter burnt up heart.
I fade into a deeper, darker shade of black-

the shade
of hell,
the shade
 of all you’ve
 led me to believe
 exists for tomorrow.

I throw beautiful ash-infected paper hearts and needles,
impeccably charred to perfection, at you.
All at you and all you’ve ever been.

At all that you are.
All in your direction.
This is what you mean
To me today.
Tomorrow.
For life.

I’m going to burn you out of my life.

Your benches fill with anger fluids and you sit- true it people scream secretly- I hand you this .. a warm tooth and a hard nudge. Very understandable. Daniel

..shiver-inducing.. there's a power lit flame in/by these words conducive to that shudder.. raw and evocatively true of intent..well done.
