Kiss
I sit…
And listen a bit,
While you stumble
And fumble,
But the words just won’t fit,
In your attempt to admit
What you’ve been thinking
And wanting…
Your wish;
So daunting.
Or is it?
See…
My chest has grown warmer
By several degrees
Since the moment you finished
Your timid decree,
And waiting patiently…
My thoughts run amok,
With this turn of my luck,
My mind goes numb;
Awestruck that you
Have wanted to give
What I’ve tried hard not to steal…
It all seems unreal,
Until your actions reveal
Otherwise.
Then everything
Just
S l o w s
Down…
And for this one brief second
Your lips simply beckon
And the whole world
Stops…
Then later decides
To start again,
Taking note of my thoughts
With some cosmic pen,
But it can never quite capture
What I felt right then,
And the rush I could feel
Again and again
For infinity…
Times ten.
And even now,
Yes now,
As I’m writing this,
The memory persists,
And I begin to reminisce
About the bliss you provided
With that infinite kiss.
Thank you...
