if one had no emotion
who would they be?
if one had no eyes to see
would they press their ear to the ground
sensing the vibrations of
sound
what if one was mute or could not hear
and had to construct a language of hands
would you tell them they were missing out
on what could have been?
what if we had no soul
or felt so empty that nothing could fill it
or perhaps didn't want to fill it,
but understand why it was empty
what language would speak these words?
what foundation would we stand on
if our truths were only sand?
would we crumble
succumbed to fear?
if I had no eyes to see
no lips to speak
no ears to listen
I would develop a language of rhythm
and I would still hear through the vibrations
and I would speak within its voice
and I would see within its sound waves
and I could find you in the dark
what language would you speak
to someone like me?
would you even try
to see
see through the eyes that cannot
yet are not
blind
within me
is my garden
I have the soil to plant in
and no matter what flowers wither
what fire scorches
what floods wash away
my truth
is in that soil
and they blossom from the seeds
of my vitality
do you
see
within
me?
