Blue eyes
once as warm as the ocean
on a summer afternoon.
No more.
Frozen ice of blue,
her eyes now so cold.
No more to be seen again,
shimmering depths of contentment.
Clothed in soft hues of blue,
she looks the part of [gracious] queen.
Before her stands a man,
resplendent in black.
Spite [brimming over] in brown eyes,
he bends to kiss her [glittering]hand.
With [unmasked] malice she lets him
smiling politely, a frozen smile.
"Come, let us take a walk"
It is a command, no suggestion.
Out of duty,
he must obey his queen.
Guards fall [soundlessly] in step
behind the duo.
Chatting amiably,
he doesn't see the [deadly] gleam in her eyes.
They come to a slow stop.
So deep in conversation
he didn't even notice.
They were standing by the gallows.
Brown eyes flew downward
to meet cold blue ones.
His mouth opened
but he knew his fate.
Fury burned hot and intense
in the face she [once] loved,
once kissed and held so dear.
As he was lead away, he spat on her.
Quick as lightning
her hand flashed out and slapped him.
Staring at her in shock
he stares into cold, merciless, lifeless eyes.
The noose was tied around his neck
and he defiantly laughed,
believing she wouldn't do it.
His laughter was [cut] short.
There he hung,
neck snapped
mouth agape in [soundless] laughter,
eyes betraying his fear.
The Ice Queen smiled
a frozen, uncaring smile.
The love of the queen had died
along with the man who broke her heart.
